Mastering Temtem Breeding

Temtem's breeding system is one of the most sophisticated in the creature-collector genre. Unlike many similar games, Temtem uses a deterministic SV (Single Value) inheritance system with a finite fertility mechanic, making every breeding decision strategically critical.

How SV Inheritance Works

Each Temtem has 7 SVs (HP, STA, SPD, ATK, DEF, SPATK, SPDEF) that range from 1 to 50. When breeding, the offspring's SVs are determined by averaging the parents' corresponding SVs, with a random variance of ±5.

Our calculator computes the minimum, maximum, and average expected SV for each stat, giving you a precise prediction of your offspring's potential.

Fertility & Strategic Planning

Unlike Pokémon, Temtem has a finite fertility system. Each Temtem starts with a fertility count (usually 4-8), and each breeding session reduces both parents' fertility by 1. When fertility reaches 0, that Temtem can no longer breed.

This creates a real strategic cost to every breeding attempt. Our calculator shows you the offspring's predicted fertility so you can plan multi-generational breeding chains efficiently without wasting valuable fertility.

Frequently Asked Questions

Temtem uses deterministic SV averaging instead of random IV inheritance. It also has a finite fertility system where each Temtem can only breed a limited number of times, making strategic planning essential.
For competitive play, you want 50 SVs in your Temtem's most important stats. A Temtem that relies on Special Attack should have 50 SPATK and 50 SPD. Our calculator helps you plan the breeding chain to reach these perfect spreads.
Yes, but only if they share at least one type. For example, a Fire/Earth Temtem can breed with another Fire or Earth type Temtem. The offspring's species is always the mother's.
When a Temtem's fertility reaches 0, it can no longer breed. This is permanent and cannot be reversed, which is why planning your breeding chain carefully is so important.
